Hey: I dont like you *secretly does* does that exist?

IS there a situation where one person denies to like you? Like for example.. you two are walking together a friend comes up to you and makes a heart with their hands and both u and the girl ure walking with see him doing it. ANd then The guy replies with a "pfft nahh" but to the girl she really thinks he does like her... theyre not dating or anything just friends who are comfortable around each other he even discusses her guy problems with her and tells her he doesnt like her. Is it possible he just might like her?!
