When did you notice your baby change from a crying newborn to a happier baby?

I love my daughter so much, but she seems so disgruntled all the time. I get some cooing but generally shes cryin because she wants something or needs something done. Just wondered when I get a more positive reaction from her! She is 5 weeks old.
