What do you know about the coton de tulear breed of dogs?
I know a little about this breed from the research I have done, as it is a breed that I have looked into getting myself. First of all for the person who said it translates to a "groomer's nightmare" I think IF that is the case it is probably simply referring to their coats. Coton de Tulears are in the same family as the bichon Frise. They are alert, intelligent and outgoing. They are a "velcro" dog meaning they thrive off of being with their owner and pleasing them. Coton de Tulears are small dogs and therefore need consistent and firm training so they don't develop what is known as "small dog syndrome" Small dog syndrome is when a dog develops negative uncharacteristic traits such as possessiveness and agression. Coton de Tulears are supposed to be fairly good with children although I would be concerned about having such a small dog around children for the dog's safety. They are very active and athletic and good for training in agility. Also they are extremely rare which equals pricey to obtain from a reputable breeder.
